4/20 Celebration.
4/20 is just around the corner, and you know what that means… National Pineapple Upside Down Day!? No. Well, yes actually. But that’s not what I am referring to. 4/20 is also (and arguably more importantly) a day that pot smokers and mary-jane enthusiasts alike gather in celebration of cannabis! Also known as “Weed Day”, 4/20 is a day that honors cannabis culture and the benefits of the cannabis plant. In states where smoking cannabis is recreationally legalized, it is a day that many people use as an excuse for getting high.
Although 4/20 is dominantly associated with marijuana, THC and getting high, let us not neglect to acknowledge CBD and hemp, too! CBD, a non-intoxicating compound found in the Cannabis sativa (C. sativa) plant, offers plenty of benefits as well that deserve to be celebrated on 4/20. If you aren’t as familiar with hemp-derived CBD products and CBD oil, you came to the right spot. Seabedee is here to give you 3 reasons why CBD is worthy of celebrating this 4/20!
1. CBD Is Legal In All 50 States.
Marijuana is legal for adult use in Washington D.C. and 16 U.S. states, as well as medically legal in 36 U.S. states. Unlike marijuana, CBD is legalized federally across all 50 U.S. states, all thanks to the Farm Bill Act of 2018. If a CBD product or CBD oil is derived from hemp, and if it contains no more than 0.3% of THC, it is considered to be legal in most states. Since its legalization in 2018, CBD products are now more accessible for people who depend on it to help manage health conditions and ailments. This is certainly worth celebrating this 4/20!
2. Hemp Is A Multifunctional Resource.
Hemp plants are not only used for their CBD and for the purpose of making CBD oil. Hemp is also a durable, functional material. For hundreds of years, industrial hemp has been used to make necessary resources such as rope, clothing, textiles, industrial products, paper, bioplastics and much more. More recently, hemp has also become prevalent into an even wider range of products, including foods, beauty products and body care. In this modern age where sustainability is key, hemp is a reliable resource to use and plausible plant to celebrate this 4/20.
3. CBD Can Help Dogs, Too.
The potential health benefits that can be reaped from CBD use is common knowledge, but did you know that CBD can also be beneficial for your fur friend? That’s right, dogs, humans and mammals alike have an Endocannabinoid System (ECS), which is what CBD interacts with to become effective. CBD dog treats, such as Seabedee’s Bark Bites, are an excellent choice for pups with anxiety, cancer, aging ailments, or seizures. When our dogs are helped, we are helped, and that deserves a hip-hip-hooray on this upcoming 4/20 day!
